Emma's Photo Shoot!

Emma and I had a photo shoot this one was her third try. She wanted to blog today so we took pictures. The two pictures below are her first and second tries.

Emma decided to show me what she was reading. When I came to check on her she was laying on a blanket reading Aladdin with a huge pile of books next to her.

The Big Boy Bed

Alex's big boy bed. I got this bed used and thought it was sooo cute. Chris put it together and Alex immediately started climbing all over it and said "mine."

Is it always good to share?

These pictures were taken about two weeks ago. Chris had stepped out of the room and came back in because I was laughing so hard I was crying. I said, "honey, go get the camera and take pictures of this". That little water bottle is the dog's canteen usually attached to his kennel. Alex also has been crawling in the kennel and filling it up with various toys; mostly balls of different sizes.

Christmas 2009

This is a table cloth that can be used in the center of a large table or on a coffee table or end table or just as a wall hanging. I made one for Richard and Jill, one for Chris's grandparents and one for Rebecca and Todd. This was the only photo I got though because everyone else had already left.
Here is a picture of Rebecca holding Alex. His pj's say "What Santa doesn't bring me Grandma will."
I made this table runner for Valeree and Reid. I had this one planned out since June and I looked for the perfect fabric that would match their house well for a month.

I only had these pictures of Christmas on our camera. The rest of the pictures that were taken on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at my parents' house are on my mom's camera and are not yet downloaded to her hard drive because it is a new camera and she has been too busy taking care of three families. She hasn't had the time to fiddle with it yet. So those pictures will probably not get blogged, but I will scrapbook them eventually.

Rockin with Richard!

Alex is playing some tunes with his favorite uncle Richard. I think he mostly takes after me and I'm sure he'll play the oboe when he gets older. In fact, I plan on teaching him reed making next year! Just kidding.

Extreme Closeup!

This is Alex at the beginning of November 2009. At this point in my pregnancy I was feeling pretty good and it wasn't until the end of the month that the enormous pain began. At this point we haven't figured out if Alex gets a brother or a sister. My next ultrasound is on February 10th.

I love to eat!

I decided to let Alex feed himself with Spaghetti-os. It might have been a lapse in judgment.

Never turn your back on the ocean or your children!

Mmmmm tasty! Yes this would be the cell phone charger. It doesn't work quite as well now I wonder why.
Mommy Daddy let's play hide and seek. Betcha can't find me!
I can help with the wrapping! Look how well I wrapped myself!
Interesting story about this one. I was working on some sewing and Alex loves to play in the pantry. I look up from what I was doing and see this fun mess. He played with these plastic forks for several days and I eventually threw them all away. About a month later I found one at the bottom of his toy box.
Alex sure loves his curling ribbon. I had to take the scissors to him before he accidentally strangled himself.

"The Beard Phase"

Chris had this beard for way toooo long; well a month and a half too long. He shaved his chin right before he shaved it all. He says "this is what you call friendly muttonchops." Personally I don't think they're very friendly. Go to beards.org if you want to see more styles. Thankfully the beard phase is over and I get my Chris back instead of that weirdo poser.

Cute things about Alex!

Okay so I'm convinced to keep blogging. As I am laying here bedridden with a laptop pregnant with my second child several things keep going through my mind that are not so positive. Until June I shall try to distract myself and stay positive through the boredom and the weirdness of only seeing Chris two days out of every week. Here is a list of things I never want to forget about Alex at this fun age.
1. He smiles with his whole face and has dimples at the tops of his cheeks.
2. He knows exactly who his mother is and from time to time will find me and bury his head in my lap and say mom.
3. If you sing or play music he will dance to it. Once I was singing him to sleep several hymns and began singing "True to the Faith" and he got excited and danced.
4. When he is excited to see someone he will bounce up and down while giggling.
5. While drinking his last bottle of milk before bed he will always offer me some and giggle as I pretend to drink it.
6. He is very smiley and social. He will sit there and talk while he is playing with Emma and she will answer him as if she knows exactly what he just said.
7. He is a great sleeper and sometimes will sleep up to 15 hours at one time. He also likes to put the covers over his head at first.
8. He likes to put his toys all over the place in interesting places. I have found toys in kitchen cupboards, in the bed frame next to the mattress, on any shelf he can reach and sometimes even in the trash.
9. He has thicker hair than mine and darker eyelashes.
10. He loves to crawl away mid diaper change and laugh and laugh as you chase him around the room trying to get him dressed.

Oldies but Goodies

I found these pictures on my mom's hard drive. This one is Emma at a family reunion having a blast.
Emma on her grandpa's shoulders at Disneyland. Doesn't she look young here! I think she was about 4. I can't believe she's gonna turn 6 next month!
Emma and her mommy on that same trip. I think they had loads of fun at least that's what Emma reported.
Emma sometime in 2007 when she got her brand new princess bedding.
Alex before he threw food! I can't believe he is so big and almost walking without holding on to stuff!

Emma and best cousin

This was taken in May of 2009! Since I have my moms computer right now I don't have any of my pictures so I thought I would look for pictures that people have never seen.

Seriously now!

I think I need some major help with my blog! I'm feeling frustrated with formatting and design choices and what to write. I read others blogs and think what a great blog. I feel like I'm really keeping up with their family and then I look at my blog and think what happened to thanksgiving, Christmas and the new year? I can't seem to find any recent pictures to post! How much is too much information? Does mine communicate enough? How do you keep a journal that you want other people to read and give them enough info but not too much? Does anybody actually read this thing anyway (except Pat I know she reads it)?
