Starting to feel like home

In a couple days I will take some pictures and post them. Today I'm starting to feel mostly unpacked. There are probably 5-10 more boxes to put away and a stack or two for Chris to go through and hopefully condense. (I'm dreaming about that one-- meet the family of --I will use this someday I'm sure in order to justify keeping it). I like to blame Chris and call him a packrat but that's a little bit of the pot calling the kettle soooooooooo yeah. Anyway my awesome cousin Steve came over today and gave us a pool lesson which was quite informative and made me relax a lot. I then went to Home Depot and bought an enormous amount of Chlorine tablets. Luckily for us the previous owners really kept up the pool and the levels were perfect so now it's up to us to keep it that way. I love having a pool and hope that this summer people will call me and say "Can we come swim?" and I will say "Of course how soon can you get here?" I hope everyone is enjoying school being out.

We've finally moved in!

I don't have any pictures of this because I'd rather take them of the new house after I've unpacked. It is so awesome to finally own a home. The last week has been chaos with the unpacking and yesterday Chris and I did a bunch of yardwork and I raked so much that I actually tore skin off of my thumb. I'm really appreciating the little things like parking in the garage and being able to bring in the groceries from there instead of across the apartment parking lot. Also it is so nice to have a backyard for Sammy (our fur kid). What I'm surprised by most is how quiet it is especially at night. The first night I didn't sleep much because it was too quiet. Although there is still a lot to unpack I could use a break from it for a day. Thankfully the kitchen is completly unpacked now and Alex's room is darn close. The second day we had an ant infestation and I bought this stuff to kill the ants that was safe around kids and pets and earth friendly. Well I come to find out that the ants seemed to like it too and then I read the ingrediants and it was mostly soybean oil! So I said that's it I'm buying some highly toxic Raid. Guess what? No more ants.

Spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Williams

Alex and Grandpa Williams spending quality time together. They are pals.
Alex swimming in the pool. My friend Emily gave me this spring float. Alex just loves it. He truly is my little fish.
Daddy and Alex swimming together. Our family loves to swim!
Alex in his big boy shirt! His grandma took this cute close-up of him. This is Alex at 7 months. Just this week he has starting flipping over a lot more and will scoot while on his back across the room.
Alex at about 5 months old at Grandma's house lounging in the bouncer. Grandma takes awesome pictures of our little Alex.

The Waiting Game

Well, the house is packed and and cleaned and ready to go! So of course the house we are buying isn't going to close on time. It's supposed to close on Monday however it could be one more week and the worst part of it is we don't have a date! No one can tell us not the real estate agent nor the lender. This really bothers me that we don't know when. I live to plan and when I cannot plan I go stir crazy. So I take a deep breathe and be thankful that things are done and spend as much time out of this apartment as possible.
